Los monos chinos
This time
we have to write about… whatever, it is a free post, and it’s a bad topic because
the hardest thing to me it’s to have to make decisions…
Anyway, I thought about two options for write, the first one was about my problem of compulsive purchase of books, but for petition of my friend Tamara, I will write about the Chinese series I am watching know.
It’s called
Mo Dao Zu Shi, or the Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation. It
was first a BL novel and this year was released an animation and a live action
series (last one called The Untamed). The history takes place on a fictional
Ancient’s China with mystic powers, paranormal events and zombies -it’s not as
weird as it’s sound, those things make sense on that world-.
The protagonist is Wei Wuxian, an energetic, smart, talented, but a quite
stubborn and arrogant guy who, in spite of his good intentions, manages to ruin
everything, or at least that’s what you thing at the start (middle of the
series, really), but soon you understand that the Great Mess has more relation
with the ambition and thirst for power from the Leaders Men, than with him.
His counterpart
(and boyfriend) was the mild-mannered Lan Zhan, whose greatest regret was don’t
stay by his side when the things got crazy and is determined to put everything
right on this second change together.
It’s a very
good series -apart from the gay ship, the one that was censored in the two
adaptation… because it’s China-, with an interested storyline, world’s construction -they have beautiful and epic locations- and character’s development.
PD: the Holy Trinity: Lan Zhan, Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng
i think that "monoa chinos" are a good topic!
